These tips are for those enthusiastic people whose English is pretty well and want to or have to do English to Chinese translation in a filed that you are not familiar at all. It is not so impossible to be in such a case. You could find many articles that complain about that. But what if it is you who got the hot potato? Complain? No use and no time. Our time is quite precious. So, act immediately!

First, find a dictionary in that subject. It could give you some general idea and would be a good assistant when you do your work. In fact, after you got some words in that subject, it’s much easier to find the right reference book when needed. (来源:英语论坛 http://bbs.englishcn.com)

Second, visit bilingual websites of some top companies who offers products in that field. There are some such websites that make the company news as well as other related technology news in many languages. That is a good source. And their bilingual product introduction could help too.

Third, read some journals in that field. Nowadays, many journals require that authors write English abstract and keywords too. You do not even need to read the whole paper, just compare the English and Chinese abstract and keywords and learn the glossaries.

The suggestions above are not shortcuts, but they could make your translation professional. So, try if you would like to be professional! Anyway, good luck to you all!
