　　这两天，一份“大一新生必备物品清单”(list of necessities for university)在网络上流传，一些收到录取通知书(acceptance letter)的准大一新生已经跃跃欲试按照这份清单买东西了。那么这份清单中有哪些值得关注的地方呢？我们一起来看一下吧！

　　关键词一：良伴(Companion)

　　清单中提到大家可以带上自己喜欢的书。因为进入大学后照例先是要进行军训(military drill)，而这时学校还没发放图书证(library card)，新生不能去图书馆看书。可是军训的日子晚上会很无聊，这时你就需要一本喜欢的书来陪伴你度过这段“艰难岁月”。

　　另外清单上还有这么一句：“特别关照(special note)！！一本英语语法书(English Grammar Book)是必不可少的！因为大学英语几乎不教语法，如果写作文的时候忘了语法会很头痛，有本语法书翻翻是很好的。”看来书不仅是打发时间的良伴，还可以雪中送炭(provide timely help)。(英语专业的表示对此没有需要，学校会发下砖块似的语法书……)

　　关键词二：道具(Implement)

　　在这份清单上有两样比较特别的东西，在其他清单上没怎么见过。

　　其一是家乡特产(special local products)。好东西就要和大家共同分享，而且这还是一种“同学之间增进感情(improve friendship)”的工具。清单后面还提到了应该带上点小礼物，让舍友师生感情更融洽。如此种种，都可以算是建立良好关系的敲门砖(stepping stones to positive relationships)吧。

　　其二是正装(formal dress/formal wear)。为什么新生要配正装？怎么着也是毕业找工作时才需要的东西吧！来看看清单上对此的解释：“开学后，如果你想参加学生会竞选(student council election)的话”。原来如此，竟然连这都想到了……虽然个人并不认为竞选学生会必须穿正装，成功与否还是在于个人能力和临场表现，最重要你得是个有口才的演讲家(eloquent speaker)，不过这倒是提醒新生朋友在大学期间要积极参加各种社团(student society)，这也是为以后找工作(job hunting)做准备，可不要一心只读圣贤书哦。

　　关键词三：心态(Attitude)

　　要说这份清单上最特别的一样，莫过于最后一条：“一颗塌实、耐得住寂寞的心”(a steady heart able to endure loneliness)。做人也好，做事也好，都应该脚踏实地不轻浮，不要急功近利(eager for quick success and instant benefit)，不要企图靠耍小聪明过日子(live by wits)。另外，虽然之前说了大学里应该多多参加各种学校活动，但也不是让你整天都生龙活虎坐不住，该静下心来学习的时候还是要一门心思专注于学习(absorbed in study)。不管怎么说，学习还是首要任务，况且这可能是你最后的四年校园生涯，以后再想坐在课堂上听课或是坐在图书馆里看书都是一件很困难的事了。
